New Rules About Flying Over Boulder Reservoir

For those of you who once flew your model planes over Boulder Reservoir, you will be happy to know that you are free to begin doing it again.

Access there had been shut down because of wildlife concerns but the Boulder Aeromodeling Society has reached a satisfactory compromise with the city.

There will be seasonal closures and restricted hours (10 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.) will apply.

Signs to educate the public will be posted at the park and a member of the club will be in charge of keeping an eye on things. Birds affected are osprey, northern harriers, burrowing owls and bitterns.

In general, both the city and members of the club are satisfied with the agreement.
